Another marvelous hybrid instrument from Diego Stocco: the Bassoforte, constructed from the parts of a piano keyboard and an electric bass (among other things), and played with loops and great aplomb. I think it sounds kind of like a sick cover version of “Personal Jesus.”

Diego Stocco is some kind a magical ubergenius. I’ve been a fan of his stuff since I came across a video of him playing a tree and quickly watched all of his other videos. This one is great, I love his bulbul tarang-inspired bass-monster keyboard thing—-it has an incredibly heavy sound. Coupled with his bowing techniques and electro-acoustic set up, I can imagine this being the soundtrack to the Apocalypse.
